User Recommendation
“The FACILITY Line is an impressive super-resolution and confocal microscope combining ease of use with cutting edge technology. The usage of intelligent illumination schemes allows live-cell recordings with high-resolution STED at an extraordinary low light level.”

Dr. Hans-Ulrich Fried
Head of the Light Microscope Facility, DZNE Bonn, Germany
“The FACILITY line is a highly flexible turn-key instrument that combines extremely powerful super-resolution imaging, including unique features such as adaptive optics, and intelligent scanning schemes, with a fantastic user interface.”

Prof. Christian Eggeling
Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany, and University of Oxford, United Kingdom
“The FACILITY line is the best way to produce world class scientific results. It is driven by a fantastic user interface and I would recommend it to every imaging facility.”

Dr. Antonio Virgilio Failla
Head of the UKE Microscopy Imaging Facility, Hamburg, Germany

FAQ
-
What should I do if a "No head-control-PCB found" message occurs? If the message above occurs, click ok and then close the browser. Then turn off the power switch on the back of the instrument and unplug it. Then plug in again, and wait 30 seconds to restart the machine to restore the normal state.
-
Why is there a low beeping sound when scanning? The situation occurs because the capture range is too extensive. Please re-scan and re-capture with a narrower range to restore the normal state.
-
What to do when encountering Power Surge? If you encounter a Power Surge due to an unstable power supply, please press the Shut Down button on the software to shut down the laser system after the power restoration. When turning off the laser system, please turn off the STEDYCON for 5 minutes (the power button is behind the host) and then turn it on again. In addition, to avoid this situation, we recommend that all precision systems be connected to the UPS system to prevent losses caused by the unstable power supply.
-
Storage of Antibodies: at which temperature should I store the purchased antibodies? Our dye-coupled antibodies are shipped at room temperature. After shipment, they should be stored at 4 °C for short time periods. For extended time periods, we recommend aliquot the dyes and storing them at -20 °C to -80 °C. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided!
-
Concentration of Antibodies: which dilution do you recommend for labeling? The exact concentration of the antibodies has to be determined empirically for every type of sample. However, we recommend using a dilution of 1:50 up to 1:200 as a starting point.
-
Do the antibodies contain any preservatives such as azide and thimerosal? The products do not contain preservatives like azides or thimerosal.
-
Are the dyes available as hydrazides? Most of our dyes are already available as hydrazides. If you are interested in these dyes or a custom product, please send us your request, and we will do our best to provide you with a suitable solution.
-
Is it possible to order antibodies with other specificities? In addition to our regular products displayed on our webpage, we can provide additional products such as antibodies with different specificities. However, since this requires a particular production, additional costs for custom production have to be charged.
-
Do you provide fluorescent dyes for confocal microscopy? All our dyes sold for use in STED microscopy can equally well be applied in confocal microscopy. In fact, a good STED dye also makes a good dye for confocal microscopy.
-
What is the stability of NHS esters of your dyes? The stability of the NHS esters differs between the individual dyes. For non-dissolved dyes, which are kept in dry conditions at 4 °C, the shelf life is typically 6 – 12 months. The shelf life increases significantly if they are stored at -20 °C or better -80 °C. For dissolved NHS esters, the shelf life depends strongly on the solvent used for dissolving or diluting the dye. Best use water-free solvents.
-
Which solvent should I use for dissolving NHS esters? In water-containing solvents, NHS esters are very labile. Therefore we recommend dissolving NHS esters in water-free dimethylformamide. Alternatively, water-free and very pure dimethyl sulfoxide may be used.
